EV Charger Installation in New Jersey

Installing a home EV charger in New Jersey means a licensed electrician runs a dedicated 240V circuit and pulls the municipal permit under the NJ Uniform Construction Code. New Jersey is one of the better states for incentives: the state's Charge Up New Jersey program gives a flat rebate toward an eligible Level 2 charger, PSE&G helps with installation and any service upgrade, and the federal 30C credit can apply through June 30, 2026 (note: PSE&G's older off-peak charging credit is being phased out in 2026).
